Renowned pastor T.D. Jakes of The Potter’s House megachurch has broken his silence following a health scare that occurred during his Sunday sermon. The unexpected incident, which happened as Jakes was wrapping up his message, left the congregation stunned and quickly gained attention online.
As he was preaching, Jakes suddenly paused, lowered his microphone, and began to tremble, prompting an immediate response from those on stage.
In a Facebook post, the pastor reassured his followers, stating that he received prompt medical attention and is now in stable condition. While the exact cause of the episode remains undisclosed, Jakes confirmed that it was not a stroke.
“I give thanks to the Lord that I did not have a stroke,” he wrote. “However, the event could’ve been fatal if it weren’t for God’s intervention.”
Jakes expressed deep gratitude for the swift action of medical professionals and the outpouring of prayers and support from his congregation and followers. The church’s Facebook page was flooded with over 2,000 messages offering encouragement and well-wishes for his recovery.
Humbled by the experience, Jakes acknowledged the importance of rest and reflection, while expressing trust in God’s continued guidance.
“I am forever grateful for God’s mercy and the care of those who acted quickly. Your love and prayers mean more to me than words can express,” he shared.
Though he did not specify when he would return to the pulpit, Jakes emphasized the need to prioritize his health as he continues his journey of faith and leadership.
