Seph Schlueter celebrates 365 days of "Counting My Blessings"

Singer-songwriter Seph Schlueter burst onto the music scene just a year ago with his international hit “Counting My Blessings.” This infectious, joy-filled tribute to a faithful God has gained tremendous popularity in both the U.S. and Brazil. Co-written with Jonathan Gamble and Jordan Sapp, the song has achieved No. 1 status across all four major Christian radio formats.

“This song is all about gratitude, a universal sentiment,” says Seph Schlueter. “In a world often filled with negativity, it’s significant to see a song celebrating gratitude gaining such traction.”

Schlueter reflected on the year with an Instagram video talking about how the song took off and how much his life has changed in the last year.

"I feel like I've lived five years in the span of one year with what's happened... It's so special to me because the song is all about blessings; it's all about counting the things that God has done in your life, and so many big things have happened in the space of just this one year that I'm so grateful for, but also for all the little things too - the things in-between, the things that fill those gaps, the big and small, and even the hardships that I've experienced in this year. It's been just such a crazy year of seeing the Lord do amazing things and I'm just so grateful for the impact, and the way the Lord has just used this song to reach so many and what He's done in my life through this song too first and foremost. It's a constant reminder to me to not just take things for granted or be chasing the next big thing, but to pause and thank God for what he's done, and this year is such a year of that - of seeing God move in amazing ways. I'm so grateful for that, and I'm so grateful you for all of you for being part of this journey with me"

Schlueter’s original track has amassed over 5 billion short-form video views, 81 million global streams, 2.6 million TikTok creations, and 1 million Instagram Reels. The official music video has garnered more than 25.6 million views on YouTube. The Portuguese version, recorded by Sony Brazil artist Isadora Pompeo, has become an international sensation, racking up 121 million global streams, 4.6 million Reels creations, and 6.3 billion TikTok views. Pompeo recently released a live version featuring Schlueter, recorded in Brazil in February before an audience of 10,000.

The song has also received multiple accolades, including “Breakout Single of the Year” at the KLOVE Fan Awards, where Schlueter also performed at the Emerging Artist Showcase. In June, he was named Breakout Artist by Christian Music Broadcaster, and last week, he earned his first GMA Dove Award nominations for New Artist of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for “Counting My Blessings.”
